Part-time Firefighter/EMT

The Pecan Grove Volunteer Fire Department is a combination department consisting of part-time, paid firefighters and members of the community who volunteer their time as first responders to serve and protect the community. 

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Perform firefighting, rescue, EMS, hazardous materials, and maintenance duties as outlined in department policy, procedures, guidelines, and protocols

  • Comply with department policies, procedures, guidelines and protocols

  • Perform all other duties as directed by supervisory personnel

Knowledge/Skills Required:

  • Must have a minimum of one year of employment with a career fire department

  • Must be a full-time employee of a career fire department, fire training institution or fire/arson investigation agency for duration of employment at PGFD

  • TCFP Basic Structural Fire Fighter

  • TDSHS EMT-Basic certification

  • Valid Texas Class “B” driver’s license

  • Must be able to provide a minimum of 8 shifts per month for scheduling, to include 10 hr. day, 14 hr. night and/or 24 hr. shifts (including a minimum of three (3) weekend shifts)

  • Preferred: Driver/Operator, Hazardous Materials Technician, TDSHS AEMT and EMTP license/certification

Starting Salary: $17.50 - $18.50/hr. DOQ

(Certification pay for HazMat, AEMT, EMTP)
