
Interested in Firefighting?
Whether you are already certified or do not have any prior experience, Pecan Grove Volunteer Fire Department (PGVFD) has an opportunity for you.
PGVFD provides all of the training you need to become State Firemen's & Fire Marshals' Association (SFFMA) certified as a firefighter in Texas. The PGVFD hosts a recruit academy every year which starts from the ground up in both classroom and hands-on training. Individuals with prior firefighting experience may not have to attend the academy and will be handled case by case.

More than a Firefighter
In addition to fire suppression, firefighters at PGVFD do much more than simply fight fires. Our personnel are also highly utilized in EMS and rescue operations. Our engine companies are dispatched to every EMS call and our firefighters may need to use their entire skill set in a single shift!
