Interested in becoming a Volunteer Firefighter?
The Pecan Grove Volunteer Fire Department is a combination department with paid part-time and volunteer
firefighters. Our volunteers consist of members of the community who volunteer their time to assist the
firefighters. We train every week with the crews to stay proficient with changing technology and equipment.
​Applicants for Membership
1. Applicants for membership must be at least eighteen (18) years of age.
2. All applicants shall complete the Volunteer Application
3. All applicants shall be subject to a background and DMV check.
4. Voting on all applicants for membership shall be by secret ballot at the Business Meeting following successful completion of a training program set forth by the Training Captain.

Recruit Academy
In order to provide the highest level of service, all members are required to complete a training program where
they will learn the skills and knowledge necessary to safely perform the duties of a firefighter.​
All non-certified candidates must complete our Recruit Academy where they will obtain a firefighter
certification. Candidates who already possess a firefighting certification may not be required to attend our
academy.
